The Solution

We created an online advent calendar, which highlighted a series of holiday deals from selected partners along with giveaways.
The Advent Calendar Online team were able to develop a multi-choice answer quiz, competition entry game. This created a greater sense of connection and engagement with those that visited the advent calendar – allowing them to become more connected and invested with the brand during the festive season.
The inclusion of the quiz also gave the campaign more of a talking point, so people would share a link to the calendar across social – challenging their friends to take part. All of this resulted in a far wider social media reach than anticipated. This helped us obtain the goal of expanding their social media reach.
Given the large brand presence and visitor base Holiday Pirates has obtained, it was essential that we launched the campaign during a “quiet” period for them – as to not disrupt any regular activity. Analysing the Holiday Pirates web analytics, we were able to assess the busiest and quietest times on their website and launch their advent calendar so it would have minimal disruption to their service.
The campaign ran for 24 days and resulted in a staggering 1.1million visits to the Holiday Pirates website, a 30% increase in whatsapp and newsletter sign ups and a massive 200% ROI.
