Bern.com is the official website for tourism to Switzerland’s capital - Bern. The website acts as a one-stop shop for highlighting and promoting events, activities and tourist attractions around the city of Bern.

Bern.com needed an engaging campaign over the Christmas period to increase the total number of new website visitors, engage these prospects through repeat visits and grow their email marketing database. Bern.com wanted to promote the capital of Switzerland as a tourist destination by highlighting a range of activities, sightseeing tours and events that are available in the city.

Advent Calendar is the perfect marketing tool too both increase audience engagement and drive repeat traffic over the Christmas period. 

Bern.com opted for our 24 day template calendar, with the additions of a bespoke background image and animated snow to create a design unique to their branding. Our online advent calendar acts as a re-engagement tool, incentivising repeat visits by offering a different prize or freebie behind each window.

In addition to smaller free prizes, we also placed competition entries behind windows, allowing users to enter a prize draw for a bigger prize that week. When not giving away a prize or offering a competition entry, a window contained content about an event or tourist attraction in Bern.

This is an ideal example of combining free giveaways along with insightful, interesting content, that contributes to sales, in a non pushy sales manner.
